The Area

The Preseli Hills are a spectacular mountain range with a web of winding lanes, bridleways, moorland, and footpaths bright with all the vivid yellows and purples of gorse and heather.

On a summer evening, take a 40 minute walk down through the woods to the famous Dyffryn Arms where beer is served by jug from the barrel, or take a short drive to listed restaurants, pubs and shops in Newport, Fishguard, or Haverfordwest.

Llys-y-frân adventure centre and lake is 5 miles away with canoeing, fishing, cycling and a cafe at the end of your adventure.

A walking paradise is literally on your doorstep –

Take footpaths following the rivers and streams from the farm, down the Gwaun Valley, or up onto the hills. Find the famous Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Carningli (Mountain of Angels), or walk from the cottage to the top of our nearest mountain, Foel Eryr, rising up above the cottages with panoramic views of the Pembrokeshire coastline.

Advice on the best routes is always available.

Spend some time on the wide sandy beaches –

Whitesands, Newport, and Poppit Sands are all close-by… along with secret coves for which this part of the world is famous. Rock pooling, paddling or simply absorbing the rays.

Birdlife is everywhere and the cottages are on the edge of streams, grassland and thick oak woods giving a wide diversity of species.

Well behaved dogs are welcome in The Old Stable and Preseli Hills Cottage.

Available all year round, a warm welcome awaits.

Jacqueline and Tom’s spacious cottage is in a beautiful part of rural Pembrokeshire with fantastic walks from the doorstep – both in wooded valleys and on exposed moorland. The cottage is well equipped and we found it relaxing and comfortable. Thank you for a lovely break.

A cosy cottage hidden in beautiful countryside with good facilities. Far away so you can totally unwind but still close to Cardigan, Fishguard and St David’s. Fabulous scenery, great walks and beaches a stone throw away.
